Don't tease the bear!

I've just returned from a party for little children ;] and I am finding it strangely difficult to stand upright - but it was so nice! It wasn't very easy for me though - I tried to fill the gap caused by absence of my other half. So I tried to eat and drink for us two.

3 glasses of wine are enough to make life simpler... and so much more complicated at the same time... if you know whatn I mean(?)

Właśnie wróciłam z kinder balu ;] trochę mnie po nim zawiewa na lewą stronę - ale było faaaaajnie!

Choć nie było mi łatwo - starałam się wypełnić lukę towarzyską, wynikającą z braku mojej drugiej połówki. Starałam się jeść i pić za dwoje.

3 kieliszki wina i życie staje się prostsze... a jednocześnie takie zawiłe ... jeśli wiecie co mam na myśli(?) 

Mahon quit any social life because the new Chest of Colors website is supposed to be running! Of course you're all invited :D

I try to sit quietly and not to disturb him - not to tease the bear - there's still the whole night left for him to work, and I only have silly things and wine to evaporate from my head.

Mahoń wyłączył się z życia towarzyskiego, bo od jutra staje nowa odsłona Chest of Colors! Oczywiście serdecznie Was zapraszamy :D

Staram się więc siedzieć cichutko i nie przeszkadzać - nie drażnić niedźwiedzia - jeszcze cała nocka przed nim, a przede mną głupoty i wino do wywietrzenia.

The last Lord of Tzeentch is literally screaming with a myriad of colors, which fills me with some kind of doubt - I already got used to all those monotoneous colors ;)))

Ostatni Lord Tzeencha krzyczy feerią kolorów co mnie trochę niepokoi - przyzwyczaiłam się już do tej monotonii kolorystycznej ;)))

Sometimes I am sked if I know how much time did painting these models (that model) take... for me the most accurate representation of passing time is for example something like this: All the Tzeentch models took as much as listening to the whole Tolkien's trilogy plus two volumes of Sapkowski's saga about the witcher.

The Tzeentch period is ending for me, but fortunately the saga is still going to go on for some time ^^

Right now I am at Ciri/lesbian Falka...  I'm listening to this audiobook for the third time and every time a different character is the cult one for me. Now I am a fan of Dandelion ^^ And maybe we are going to vote for our favorite characters? Whose vote goes for the Witcher, whose for Dandelion, whose for Ciri, and maybe somebody's goes to Yennefer?

Czasem ktoś zadaje pytanie ile czasu zajęło Ci malowanie tego/tych modeli... dla mnie najwiarygodniejszym określeniem czasu, to dla przykładu: Wszystkie Tzeenche zajęły mi tyle co słuchowisko Trylogii Tolkiena i dwie części sagi Sapkowskiego.

Dla mnie kończy się epoka Tzeentcha, ale na szczęście saga Sapkowskiego jeszcze trochę potrwa ^^

(jestem na etapie: Ciri/Falka lesbijka... trzeci raz słucham tej książki i za każdym razem inna postać jest dla mnie kultowa). Tym razem jestem fanką Jaskra ^^  A może zagłosujemy? Kto głosuje na Wiedźmina, kto na Jaskra, kto na Ciri no i może trafi się fan Yennefer?

PS: Only in Tolkien's characters my choice remains the same. :D Tom Bombadil rules!

Zombie morning or zombie evening?

We've had problems with putting Balrog to slep recently. It seems that the only choice we have is: we can either get up at 5 AM or put him to sleep at 9 PM, with an hour of trouble trying to make him fall asleep. 

And what would you choose? Walking like a zombie in the morning or in the evening? ;P

Mamy ostatnio kłopoty z usypianiem Balroga - jak nie urok to przemarsz wojsk :-/ wygląda na to, że mamy wybór: albo będziemy wstawać o 5:00, albo kłaść go po 21:00, z godzinnymi cyrkami przy usypianiu.

A Wy wolelibyście chodzić jak zombie rano czy wieczorem? ;P

I managed to finish the penultimate Tzeentch model, and the last one is being finished now.

So I am getting closer and closer to the end of this marathon. Oh, I think it will take muuuuch time to rest after painting all that blues and purples ;)))

Skończyłam przedostatni model do Tzeentcha, a i ostatni jest na wykończeniu.

Tak więc powoli dobijam do końca tego maratonu. Oj, chyba dłuuugo będę odpoczywać od koloru niebieskiego i fioletowego ;)))

The next model is going to be green - it's Vulkan He'Stan (from GW again).

But it's for the next week...

Coloring and freehands - Tzeentch goes on...

Today I have a little time available so I can send you an update about another step of painting this model.  
I was asked how to color surfaces so the pattern doesn't get lost under the paint... (yes, I mean the freehand painted on the robe of the last model in the Lords of Tzeentch series).

Trochę mam dziś dodatkowego czasu, więc wrzucę wam relację z kolejnego etapu malowania.
Padło pytanie jak to będę kolorować, żeby wzór nie znikł pod farbą... (tak, mowa o freehandzie na spódnicy ostatniego modelu z serii Lordów Tzeentcha).

Well, actually I wanted to hide the freehand under paint in some parts ^^ Heh, now it reminded me of my complaints about what Mahon did when he was still a prolific painter of his zoooombie hunting warbands from Hasslefree Miniatures.


He used to start with whole miniatures painted in a clean and neat wat, and then he "dipped" the models in gore... and now you can be just as surprised as I used to be ;)

No, trochę chodziło mi o to, żeby przykryć miejscami freehand pod farbą ^^ Heh, teraz to skojarzyło mi się z moją naganą dla Mahonia, kiedy jeszcze płodnie pędzlował bandy do pojedynków z zoooombie z modeli od Hasslefree Miniatures.

Najpierw starannie pomalował całość a potem 'unurzał' model we krwi ... no i proszę, teraz wy możecie dziwić się tak samo ;)

If anybody cares for a color recipe, I can force my brain and try to recall it, but not today - forgive me, I have to go to the kitchen or our dishes can walk away - they're likely to succumb to Nurgle :P


Of course I will try to keep you updated about my progress, but if you have any questions - feel free to ask them. After all I am running out of those Tzeentch models ;)

Jeśli ktoś się pisze na recepturę kolorystyczną, to mogę wytężyć mózg, ale to już nie dziś - wybaczcie idę do kuchni, bo naczynia do jutra gotowe same wywędrować - istnieje groźba, że ogarnie je Nurglostan ;P

Oczywiście będę starała się was informować o swoich postępach, ale jeśli macie jakieś pytania - pytajcie. W końcu przecież skończą mi się te Tzeentchowe modele ;)

• Reaper 09022 Night Shade Purple

First I airbrushed the whole models with Night Shade Purple, and then gradually highlighted it up to white. Then I manually tweaked the chiaroscuro and only then started applying the freehand on top of it all. If you follow my blog there's no surprise for you:

Najpierw aerografem pokryłam całość kolorem Night Shade Purple, a potem stopniowo rozjaśniałam do bieli. Potem dopracowałam światłocień ręcznie, a na to dopiero nakładałam freehand. Jeśli śledzicie bloga, to nie będzie dla Was żadnej niespodzianki:

I started with the part that I wanted  to have well visible pattern.

Zaczęłam od miejsca, w którym zależało mi na dobrze widocznym wzorze. 

Where the fabric is highlighted, I applied the pattern with a mix of Night Shade Purple and White, and where it's shaded - with White or White with a little bit of Night Shade Purple.

Tam gdzie tkanina jest rozświetlona, tam wzór nakładałam miksem Night Shade Purple z bielą, a na obszarze zacienionym bielą, albo bielą z odrobiną Night Shade Purple.

Now I only needed to paint a monochromatic standard, and then move on to coloring... hmmm...

Teraz zostało mi jeszcze zrobić sztandar monochromatycznie, a po tym wezmę się za kolorowanie... hmmm...

First I thought I'd make his skin purple, but now I am leaning toward the idea that his skin will be blue, and the robe could be purple... I only have to think about the color of OSL from the lantern falling on the purple. Maybe you could suggest any colors?

Just bear in mind it has to remain consistent with the previous Tzeentch models.

Na początku myślałam, że zrobię mu fioletową skórę, ale teraz coraz bardziej myślę, że skóra będzie w niebieskim odcieniu, a spódnica podobała by mi się chyba najbardziej fioletowa... Muszę jeszcze tylko pomyśleć w jakim kolorze przy tym fiolecie dać światło od latarenki. Może Wy macie jakieś propozycje kolorystyczne?Tylko miejcie na względzie, że musi pozostać w obrębie poprzednich modeli dla Tzeentcha.

Can Balrog be your mascot?

Well, this time my absence wasn't my fault ;P Mahon is finishing the website and it takes all his free time (and some of his time at work ;P). Fortunately the works are advanced enough that I am allowed to bother him about helping me with the blog again. When you have such Mahon at home you're not allowed to release any underexposed pictures or texts with too serious mistakes ^^ So I can't do anything but wait.

No tym razem nieobecność nie jest z mojej winy ;p Mahoń kończy stronę i pochłania to cały jego wolny (i trochę też pracowy ;P) czas. Na szczęście jest już na takim etapie, co wolno mi znów bzyczeć mu koło ucha o pomoc przy blogu, bo jak się ma takiego Mahonia w domu, to nie wolno wypuszczać w świat niedoświetlonych zdjęć i tekstu po angielsku ze zbyt dużymi błędami ^^ To też nie pozostało mi nic innego jak czekać.

In the meantime Balrog caught some kind of flu again and so did his faithful squire - Ana.

You also missed an excellent party that Balrog had for his first birthday! But nothing is lost, don't worry, because other kids from the playground make another birthday for him almost every day ;) so you can join them. I don't know how Balrog became the mascot for all kids at the playground. They allow him to play with them, run around, bring the ball, etc. What is a worse problem for me is the fact that every day he keeps receiving a whole lot of kisses, birthday cards (even made of sand) and presents.

W między czasie Balrog znów zagrypiał, a wraz z nim wierny giermek - Ańa.

Przegapiliście też świetną imprezę z okazji 1. urodzin! Ale nic straconego, bo dzieciaki z podwórka robią mu urodziny prawie codziennie ;) możecie się przyłączyć.
Nie wiedzieć jak Balrog stał się maskotką podwórka - dzieciaki pozwalają mu ganiać razem z nimi po boisku, przynosić piłkę, itd. ale co dla mnie już bardziej uciążliwe, to dostaje codziennie masę buziaków, laurek (nawet z piasku) i prezentów.

Oh no, it's nothing difficult at our playground because it's one of the most littered playgrounds in the neighborhood (maybe the janitor doesn't manage to clean up all the mess after such a horde of kids?). So they make cranes from sticks, rattles from cans, or bouquets with ice cream sticks, feathers, papers... so I and Balrog make sand cakes to feed the guests and bring heaps of trash (sorry, "presents") home every day ;)

I hope the kids will get bored with it soon and we'll be able to focus on watching ants with Balrog. But for now I walk with him as if he was a celebrity. Every moment one of the kids wants to hug him, hold his hand, tickle, or at least to push the swing he's sitting on. I really feel for all the bodyguards - it's such an exhausting work :[

O nie, u nas na podwórku nietrudno, bo mamy jedno z bardziej zaniedbanych placów zabaw w okolicy (może dozorczyni nie nadąża sprzątać bałaganu po takiej hordzie dzieciaków?) One więc z gałązek robią mu dźwigi, z puszek grzechotki, albo bukiety w których m.in. znajdują się patyczki po lodach, pióra, papierki ... robimy więc z Balrogiem poczęstunek babkowy w piaskownicy i tak to co dzień znosimy do domu masę śmieci - tfu przepraszam 'preeezentów' ;)

Mam nadzieję, że się to niebawem dzieciakom znudzi i będziemy mogli z Baldkiem spokojnie skupić się na obserwowaniu mrówek. Póki co przechadzam się z nim jak z celebrytem. Co po chwila któreś chce go przytulić, potrzymać za rączkę, połaskotać, albo chociaż pohuśtać. Współczuję wszystkim bodyguardom - męcząca praca :[

During the period of silence I managed to finish Be'Lakor (I don't remember if I already mentioned him) and am close to finishing another lord on disc. I only need to tweak theflames on his base and add some kind of decoration on there. I am awaiting a parcel with suitable bits. Maintaining the momentum, I am painting the last lord on disc. This is the limited edition model which will be converted into a standard bearer.

I keep taking lots of photos, so if you help me put some pressure on Mahon, I should be able to post some kind of a tutorial soon. :D

W czasie tej ciszy, skończyłam Be'Lakora (nie pamiętam czy Wam już o tym wspominałam) i jestem o krok od skończenia kolejnego Lorda na dysku. Zostało mi jeszcze dopracować płomienie na podstawce, i dołożyć na niej jakąś ozdobę. Żeby to zrobić czekam na odstawę ze sklepu. Idąc za ciosem robię ostatniego Lorda na dysku. Jego limitowana wersja będzie skonwertowana - robię go ze sztandarem.

Zdjęcia ciągle robię, więc jeśli pomożecie mi trochę po naciskać Mahonia, to niebawem powinnam wrzucić jakiś tutorial :D

Mounted lord of Tzeentch and totally different scale

The second lord od Tzeentch that I painted goes to the same owner.  All these models will have a common color scheme because they belong to one army. I just have to get some more sea shells, because my heritage from my golden fish is running short. ;]

I also finished painting Be'lakor, so when Mahon manages to take photos I will share them with a short description.

Drugi z Lordów, jaki powstał, idzie w te same ręce. Wszystkie te modele będą miały wspólny schemat kolorystyczny, bo są do jednej armii. Muszę wykombinować skądś więcej muszelek, bo kończy mi się spadek po złotych rybkach ;]

Skończyłam też malować Be'lakora, więc jak tylko Mahoń upora się z fotkami, wrzucę razem z krótkim opisem.

I think I'll have a different painting day tomorrow, because we want to repaint walls of Balrog's rook for his first birthday. Paints and wall decorations are waiting, and I have a conceptual mess in my head. I hope I won't screw it up, and I am slightly panicked. It's a totally different scale after all, and there will be no corrections because we don't have the base color anymore. Wish me breaking the brushes tomorrow ^^

Jutro chyba zrobię sobie dzień z wałkiem, bo chcemy na Baldka pierwsze urodziny uatrakcyjnić mu ściany w pokoju. Farby i ozdoby ścienne czekają, a ja mam w głowie mętlik koncepcyjny. Mam nadzieję, że nie dam ciała, a cykora mam lekkiego. To przecież inna skala, a poprawek nie ma, bo nie mamy więcej farby koloru ściany. Życzcie mi połamania pędzla ^^
