New project and new boss

So I am all in my new project... So far my concept is very unclear, but I doubt it will get better ;P I've been thinking long enough to realize I won't come up with any more ideas.

Everything will be sorted out while I'll be working on it. The colour scheme is not very easy, because it's going to be painted in Khorne colours (red and black). 

Not only I am going to face boring colours, but also - metallics, which haven't been used for a long time (I wonder if my metallic paints aren't completely dry).

Zagrzebałam się w nowym projekcie... Póki co mam mgliste pojęcie jak chcę, żeby wyglądało po pomalowaniu, ale lepiej nie będzie ;P Dumam już dość długo, żeby wiedzieć, że nic więcej nie wymyślę.

Wszystko wyjdzie w praniu. Kolorystyka dla mnie niewdzięczna, bo khornowa (czerwień i czerń)

Nie dość że zmierzę się z nudną kolorysytyką, to jeszcze z metalikami, których od dość dawna nie ruszałam (ciekawe, czy farbki nie zaschły).

So who's the boss in the house?
We don't have any illusions - Balrog decides when we should go outdoors and if I don't want him to bring me all pairs of shoes from our cabinet, I have to put some on. Fortunately he learned to bring the second shoe from the pair, too.
Generally we're in trouble: not only he declared a strike against his pisspot, but he also shows some symptoms of the supermarket syndrome.


Let me explain it to the uninitiated: it's throwing himself on the ground and using crying to create pressure on us (usually when he wants me to play a camel or when he wants to cross a street on his own).
And in the back of my head there's a warning light: DON'T GIVE IN, or otherwise Mahon will consider you a weakling again :?

I always felt I would be a better grandma.

Nie mamy złudzeń - Balrog zarządza wyjście z domu i jeśli nie chcę, żeby przyniósł mi wszystkich butów z szafki, to muszę w końcu któreś włożyć. Na szczęście nauczył się już donosić drugi but od pary.

W ogóle ostatnio mamy przechlapane: prócz strajku nocnikowego przechodzi również syndrom sklepowy :/

Dla niewtajemniczonych, to rzucanie się na glebę i wymuszanie lamentem (zwykle gdy w jego mniemaniu mam robić za wielbłąda, albo w walce o samodzielne przechodzenie przez ulicę).

A z tyłu głowy ciągle zapala mi się lampka - NIE ULEGAJ, bo Mahoń znów uzna, żeś miękka klucha :?

Zawsze uważałam, że większe predyspozycje mam do roli babci.

Back to blogging!

So I am back after a holiday break. I haven't had any real vacation but my family from various parts of the globe came to us, so we had to celebrate it with them (and so I kept celebrating until yesterday :])

The family reunion is over and so is my work on several projects I've been working on in the so-called meantime.

No i wracam po przerwie wakacyjnej. Na wakacjach jako takich nie byłam, ale zjechała się w moje strony rodzina z różnych krańców świata, więc trzeba było to z nimi uczcić (no i tak świętowałam do wczoraj :])

Zlot rodzinny zakończony, tak jak kilka prac które popełniłam w tzw. międzyczasie.

I took most of the models I painted recently to the Grey Seer painting competition.

I shamelessly entered 4 of 5 available categories ;P Fortunately the people I met there were my friends so I wasn't beaten in any dark corner after the contest.

I returned from the Grey Seer with the grand prix (and more), which I won for the group of Tzeentch characters, and one of the items I won found its use in the very next project I started after the contest... but let's keep the story in the right order ^^

Większość modeli jakie pomalowałam w ostatnim czasie, zabrałam ze sobą na konkurs malarski Grey Seer.

Wystawiłam się bezczelnie w 4 kategoriach z 5 ;P Na szczęście na konkursie byli sami swoi i po kubku za to w żadnym ciemnym zaułku nie dostałam.

Wróciłam z konkursu między innymi z główną nagrodą za bandę Tzeenchowych bohaterów, a z jednej z nagród zaraz zrobiłam użytek dołączając do najnowszego projektu ... ale po kolei ^^

The social integration was 100% successful!!! (and the one-day spent without our kid was like a week of holidays) ;) Not that we can't have a great time together with Balrog, but you know...

Integracja wypaliła w 100% !!! (a jednodniowy wypad bez dziecka to jak tydzień wakacji) ;) Nie żebym nie mogła świetnie bawić się z Balrogiem, ale sami wiecie...

Ah, I mentioned that I'm working on another model... Actually I can say I am finishing it today (unless I spend too much blogging). I was lucky to be allowed to choose the model, so I felt like a child in a toy store - so many cool things around and I can choose only one?! (Some time ago we stopped buying all the models that we feel we must paint one day - we didn't have enough room to storage space to hold them all, and it's even worse that I feel frustrated that they're still unpainted. Sometimes I peek there to relax, forgetting how frustrating sight this cemetery of unpainted models is for me)

Ach wspominałam, że robię kolejny model... Właściwie to go dziś kończę (o ile nie zmitrężę przy blogu za dużo czasu). Model miałam przyjemność sama wybrać, a czułam się przy tym jak dziecko w sklepie z zabawkami - tyle fajnych rzeczy, a ja mogę tylko jedno?! (Jakiś czas temu przestaliśmy kupować te wszystkie modele które koniecznie kiedyś pomalujemy - szafy przestały je mieścić, a co gorsza niepomalowane działają na mnie frustrująco. Co jakiś czas zerkam tam w potrzebie odprężenia, zapominając jak frustrujący to dla mnie widok - cmentarzysko)

So I chose Omoklon, the twisted jester and I put him next to the outhouse won at the Grey Seer. (Yes, I know it's not an outhouse but I couldn't help making it one)

Do puenty kobieto!

No więc wybrałam model Omoklona i zestawiłam go z wygranym w konkursie wychodkiem. (Tak, wiem,  że to nie wychodek, ale nie mogłam oprzeć się wykorzystaniu go w ten sposób).

Don't tease the bear!

I've just returned from a party for little children ;] and I am finding it strangely difficult to stand upright - but it was so nice! It wasn't very easy for me though - I tried to fill the gap caused by absence of my other half. So I tried to eat and drink for us two.

3 glasses of wine are enough to make life simpler... and so much more complicated at the same time... if you know whatn I mean(?)

Właśnie wróciłam z kinder balu ;] trochę mnie po nim zawiewa na lewą stronę - ale było faaaaajnie!

Choć nie było mi łatwo - starałam się wypełnić lukę towarzyską, wynikającą z braku mojej drugiej połówki. Starałam się jeść i pić za dwoje.

3 kieliszki wina i życie staje się prostsze... a jednocześnie takie zawiłe ... jeśli wiecie co mam na myśli(?) 

Mahon quit any social life because the new Chest of Colors website is supposed to be running! Of course you're all invited :D

I try to sit quietly and not to disturb him - not to tease the bear - there's still the whole night left for him to work, and I only have silly things and wine to evaporate from my head.

Staram się więc siedzieć cichutko i nie przeszkadzać - nie drażnić niedźwiedzia - jeszcze cała nocka przed nim, a przede mną głupoty i wino do wywietrzenia.

The last Lord of Tzeentch is literally screaming with a myriad of colors, which fills me with some kind of doubt - I already got used to all those monotoneous colors ;)))

Ostatni Lord Tzeencha krzyczy feerią kolorów co mnie trochę niepokoi - przyzwyczaiłam się już do tej monotonii kolorystycznej ;)))

Sometimes I am sked if I know how much time did painting these models (that model) take... for me the most accurate representation of passing time is for example something like this: All the Tzeentch models took as much as listening to the whole Tolkien's trilogy plus two volumes of Sapkowski's saga about the witcher.

The Tzeentch period is ending for me, but fortunately the saga is still going to go on for some time ^^

Right now I am at Ciri/lesbian Falka...  I'm listening to this audiobook for the third time and every time a different character is the cult one for me. Now I am a fan of Dandelion ^^ And maybe we are going to vote for our favorite characters? Whose vote goes for the Witcher, whose for Dandelion, whose for Ciri, and maybe somebody's goes to Yennefer?

Czasem ktoś zadaje pytanie ile czasu zajęło Ci malowanie tego/tych modeli... dla mnie najwiarygodniejszym określeniem czasu, to dla przykładu: Wszystkie Tzeenche zajęły mi tyle co słuchowisko Trylogii Tolkiena i dwie części sagi Sapkowskiego.

Dla mnie kończy się epoka Tzeentcha, ale na szczęście saga Sapkowskiego jeszcze trochę potrwa ^^

(jestem na etapie: Ciri/Falka lesbijka... trzeci raz słucham tej książki i za każdym razem inna postać jest dla mnie kultowa). Tym razem jestem fanką Jaskra ^^  A może zagłosujemy? Kto głosuje na Wiedźmina, kto na Jaskra, kto na Ciri no i może trafi się fan Yennefer?

PS: Only in Tolkien's characters my choice remains the same. :D Tom Bombadil rules!

Zombie morning or zombie evening?

We've had problems with putting Balrog to slep recently. It seems that the only choice we have is: we can either get up at 5 AM or put him to sleep at 9 PM, with an hour of trouble trying to make him fall asleep. 

And what would you choose? Walking like a zombie in the morning or in the evening? ;P

Mamy ostatnio kłopoty z usypianiem Balroga - jak nie urok to przemarsz wojsk :-/ wygląda na to, że mamy wybór: albo będziemy wstawać o 5:00, albo kłaść go po 21:00, z godzinnymi cyrkami przy usypianiu.

A Wy wolelibyście chodzić jak zombie rano czy wieczorem? ;P

I managed to finish the penultimate Tzeentch model, and the last one is being finished now.

So I am getting closer and closer to the end of this marathon. Oh, I think it will take muuuuch time to rest after painting all that blues and purples ;)))

Skończyłam przedostatni model do Tzeentcha, a i ostatni jest na wykończeniu.

Tak więc powoli dobijam do końca tego maratonu. Oj, chyba dłuuugo będę odpoczywać od koloru niebieskiego i fioletowego ;)))

The next model is going to be green - it's Vulkan He'Stan (from GW again).

But it's for the next week...

Coloring and freehands - Tzeentch goes on...

Today I have a little time available so I can send you an update about another step of painting this model.  
I was asked how to color surfaces so the pattern doesn't get lost under the paint... (yes, I mean the freehand painted on the robe of the last model in the Lords of Tzeentch series).

Trochę mam dziś dodatkowego czasu, więc wrzucę wam relację z kolejnego etapu malowania.
Padło pytanie jak to będę kolorować, żeby wzór nie znikł pod farbą... (tak, mowa o freehandzie na spódnicy ostatniego modelu z serii Lordów Tzeentcha).

Well, actually I wanted to hide the freehand under paint in some parts ^^ Heh, now it reminded me of my complaints about what Mahon did when he was still a prolific painter of his zoooombie hunting warbands from Hasslefree Miniatures.


He used to start with whole miniatures painted in a clean and neat wat, and then he "dipped" the models in gore... and now you can be just as surprised as I used to be ;)

No, trochę chodziło mi o to, żeby przykryć miejscami freehand pod farbą ^^ Heh, teraz to skojarzyło mi się z moją naganą dla Mahonia, kiedy jeszcze płodnie pędzlował bandy do pojedynków z zoooombie z modeli od Hasslefree Miniatures.

Najpierw starannie pomalował całość a potem 'unurzał' model we krwi ... no i proszę, teraz wy możecie dziwić się tak samo ;)

If anybody cares for a color recipe, I can force my brain and try to recall it, but not today - forgive me, I have to go to the kitchen or our dishes can walk away - they're likely to succumb to Nurgle :P

Jeśli ktoś się pisze na recepturę kolorystyczną, to mogę wytężyć mózg, ale to już nie dziś - wybaczcie idę do kuchni, bo naczynia do jutra gotowe same wywędrować - istnieje groźba, że ogarnie je Nurglostan ;P

Oczywiście będę starała się was informować o swoich postępach, ale jeśli macie jakieś pytania - pytajcie. W końcu przecież skończą mi się te Tzeentchowe modele ;)

Emperor's / Sorcerer's New Clothes - tutorial

• Reaper 09022 Night Shade Purple

First I airbrushed the whole models with Night Shade Purple, and then gradually highlighted it up to white. Then I manually tweaked the chiaroscuro and only then started applying the freehand on top of it all. If you follow my blog there's no surprise for you:

Najpierw aerografem pokryłam całość kolorem Night Shade Purple, a potem stopniowo rozjaśniałam do bieli. Potem dopracowałam światłocień ręcznie, a na to dopiero nakładałam freehand. Jeśli śledzicie bloga, to nie będzie dla Was żadnej niespodzianki:

I started with the part that I wanted  to have well visible pattern.

Zaczęłam od miejsca, w którym zależało mi na dobrze widocznym wzorze. 

Where the fabric is highlighted, I applied the pattern with a mix of Night Shade Purple and White, and where it's shaded - with White or White with a little bit of Night Shade Purple.

Tam gdzie tkanina jest rozświetlona, tam wzór nakładałam miksem Night Shade Purple z bielą, a na obszarze zacienionym bielą, albo bielą z odrobiną Night Shade Purple.

Now I only needed to paint a monochromatic standard, and then move on to coloring... hmmm...

Teraz zostało mi jeszcze zrobić sztandar monochromatycznie, a po tym wezmę się za kolorowanie... hmmm...

First I thought I'd make his skin purple, but now I am leaning toward the idea that his skin will be blue, and the robe could be purple... I only have to think about the color of OSL from the lantern falling on the purple. Maybe you could suggest any colors?

Just bear in mind it has to remain consistent with the previous Tzeentch models.

Na początku myślałam, że zrobię mu fioletową skórę, ale teraz coraz bardziej myślę, że skóra będzie w niebieskim odcieniu, a spódnica podobała by mi się chyba najbardziej fioletowa... Muszę jeszcze tylko pomyśleć w jakim kolorze przy tym fiolecie dać światło od latarenki. Może Wy macie jakieś propozycje kolorystyczne?Tylko miejcie na względzie, że musi pozostać w obrębie poprzednich modeli dla Tzeentcha.
